She sat in her window seat overlooking the wing of the plane and watched as the people boarded behind her. Glancing at the two seats next to her, she said a silent prayer that they remained empty. The stewardess had said this was a light flight tonight.
As the last person sat down she let out a sigh of relief when the two seats were still unoccupied. She moved the armrest up, readjusted her seat belt and looked out at the runway. It was nice to be heading home.
When the plane started ascending into the sky she looked to her left and found herself staring into the bluest eyes she had ever seen. He was watching the take off out her window. When he realized she was looking at him, he blushed and looked away.
Once the plane had reached its altitude and the seat belt sign was turned off, she leaned over to introduce herself . They spoke over the beverage cart and found both were heading home. He made a passing remark that the only thing waiting for him was a TV dinner and a cat. She laughed as her second silent prayer had been answered. After the cart had moved down the aisle he motioned at the empty seats and waited. She smiled and patted the seat next to her. This was going to be an interesting flight after all, she thought.
As he sat next to her she felt giddy, their thighs touching, hands brushing against each other as they readjusted the seats. Looking up into his blue eyes caused her to blush this time. He laughed and asked if she was alright. She stammered a bit and went for her water glass, thankful for the distraction. He leaned over and whispered in her ear how lucky he was to be sitting next to the loveliest woman on the plane. Suddenly the tables had been turned and she felt like she was in high school again. At that moment the stewardess stop by their seats, smiled and explained they only had one blanket left for the over night flight. He thanked her and set the blanket on the seat next to them.

To be continued....Aaaack...yes more...please...
ReplyDeleteAww so romantic!
ReplyDeleteYou just know when to make us want more.
ReplyDeleteThanks for commenting on my blog, it feels good not to be the only one. I know I'm not, but there is some kind of fine line between this subject and just being a down right dirty slut. Which maybe isn't a bad thing. :) I dunno.
Oh lovely... more please!
ReplyDeleteOh, the things that can happen beneath a blanket! Lovely story, Gray.
ReplyDeleteI like that he set the blanket aside. For now. :-)
ReplyDeleteOh, just one blanket.....oh the thoughts running through my head.
ReplyDeleteGreat start
ReplyDeleteAlways did want to join the mile high club.

ReplyDeleteOh, I love an airplane fantasy! I need more!!
ReplyDeleteI love how we all use the "high-school" reference that brings us back to those fist moments of being in love, or feeling attraction, or whatever the case may be. Long live high school and I'll spend the rest of my life working on my GED if its required to feel love. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat story! Just to let you know, I'm hosting a surprise cyber virtual birthday party for my dear hubby, Dante, at HIS place (http://dantesparadiso.blogspot.com/), tomorrow, Saturday, Sept. 5. He doesn't know anything about it yet and I intend to keep it that way til Saturday, so please don't tell him or say anything on the blogs about it. But please stop by sometime during the day, or spend the day hanging out there... it will be tons of fun!
ReplyDeleteHope to see you there!
